Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("Author", "User", or "you") and BookSpace.ai ("BookSpace", "we", "us", or "our").
By creating an account, browsing our website, purchasing an account subscription or credit package, submitting book directives, or downloading generated manuscript files, you agree to be bound by these Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any referenced guidelines.
If you do not agree to all provisions of these Terms, you may not access or use BookSpace.ai. If you are accessing BookSpace on behalf of an organization, publishing imprint, or company, you represent and warrant that you have the legal authority to bind that entity to these Terms.
You own 100% of the manuscripts and source materials you provide. BookSpace is a production engine that assists you in researching, architecting, drafting, and typesetting complete books. You retain ultimate editorial responsibility for what you publish.
Service Description & Hybrid Workflow
BookSpace.ai is an intelligent book creation and publishing preparation workspace. Unlike fragmented text generation tools, BookSpace plans and produces full-length, coherent manuscripts — including books exceeding 200 pages — using a sequential 7-stage hybrid production engine:
- Stage 01 — AI Research & Synthesis: Analyzing author prompts, target audience parameters, and uploaded source materials to establish a rigorous factual foundation.
- Stage 02 — AI Book Architecture: Structuring parts, chapters, character arcs, and multi-tier outlines before prose generation begins.
- Stage 03 — AI Writing & Voice Alignment: Drafting chapter prose while maintaining consistent tone, terminology, and narrative continuity across the manuscript.
- Stage 04 — AI Editorial Refinement: Improving pacing, structural transitions, line-level clarity, and readability.
- Stage 05 — Human Review Checkpoint: An internal review performed by platform editorial specialists who inspect formatting completeness, outline alignment, and production integrity before compilation.
- Stage 06 — Typesetting & Export: Formatting the verified manuscript into professional publishing layouts.
- Stage 07 — Publication & Delivery: Delivering final, downloadable files (DOCX, PDF, EPUB, LaTeX, PPTX) to your workspace.
Platform Boundary: BookSpace is a writing, editing, and formatting platform.BookSpace is not a publisher, distributor, or retail bookstore. We do not publish books directly to Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP), Apple Books, or Barnes & Noble on your behalf. Authors receive publication-ready files and retain full autonomy to publish, distribute, print, or monetize their books through their own publishing accounts.
Eligibility & Account Security
Eligibility: You must be at least 18 years of age (or the legal age of majority in your jurisdiction) to create an account or use BookSpace. By registering, you warrant that you meet this requirement.
Account Accuracy: You agree to provide true, current, and complete registration information. You may not register under a false identity or impersonate any individual or entity.
Account Security: You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials, passwords, and passkeys. You are fully liable for all activities conducted under your account. You agree to notify BookSpace immediately via our Contact Page if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
User Content & Intellectual Property
We believe in clear, unambiguous intellectual property boundaries:
A. Your Submitted Materials
You retain 100% of your ownership, copyrights, and intellectual property rights in any text, outlines, notes, research documents, reference manuscripts, and images you upload to BookSpace ("User Content").
You grant BookSpace only a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, process, format, review, and reproduce your User Content solely to the extent necessary to provide the book creation, editing, human review, and export services you request. This limited license terminates when your project and account are deleted.
B. AI-Generated Output & Deliverables
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, BookSpace assigns to you all of its right, title, and interest (if any) in and to the specific text, chapters, books, and deliverables generated for your projects ("Generated Content").
Legal Reality of AI Outputs: Legal standards regarding the copyrightability and ownership of purely AI-generated content vary across jurisdictions (such as under the U.S. Copyright Office and European copyright frameworks). BookSpace makes no representation or warranty that raw AI-generated output is eligible for statutory copyright registration without human creative revision or substantial authorial contribution. As the author, your human creative direction, curation, prompts, and revisions form the basis of your copyright claim.
C. Platform Intellectual Property
The BookSpace platform, website, user interface, brand name, logos, proprietary prompts, architectural algorithms, design system, and code are the exclusive property of BookSpace.ai and its licensors. You may not copy, reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the source code or proprietary prompt chains of the platform.
Acceptable Use Policy
You agree to use BookSpace responsibly and ethically. You strictly agree NOT to:
- Generate, upload, or request content that promotes illegal acts, violence, terrorism, child sexual abuse material (CSAM), non-consensual imagery, or targeted harassment.
- Infringe upon the copyrights, trademarks, trade secrets, privacy, or publicity rights of any third party.
- Upload source materials that you do not have the legal right or license to use.
- Generate fraudulent, defamatory, libelous, or maliciously deceptive material intended to impersonate real persons without consent.
- Attempt to probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of our systems, networks, or Cloudflare edge infrastructure.
- Circumvent or attempt to manipulate credit quotas, subscription paywalls, or administrative controls.
- Deploy automated bots, spiders, or scrapers to extract data from the website or platform without explicit written authorization.
- Resell, sublicense, or rent access to BookSpace accounts to third parties without a commercial agreement.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account found in violation of this Acceptable Use Policy without refund.
AI Content Disclaimer & Author Duties
Artificial intelligence models operate through complex probabilistic text generation. You understand and acknowledge that:
- Potential for Errors: AI-generated text may contain factual errors, inaccurate assertions, historical hallucinations, fabricated citations, or unintended omissions.
- Author's Sole Responsibility: You, as the author and prospective publisher, are solely responsible for reviewing, fact-checking, verifying citations, and editing all generated content before distributing, publishing, or selling it.
- No Legal or Professional Advice: Generated manuscripts covering medical, legal, financial, or engineering topics are for creative and informational purposes only. BookSpace does not provide professional advice, and generated text should never replace qualified professional counsel.
- No Guarantee of Commercial Success: BookSpace does not warrant that books created on our platform will achieve commercial sales, critical acclaim, bestseller status, or acceptance by traditional publishing houses.
You are the author of record. Inspect your chapters, verify citations, check factual claims, and confirm originality before publishing. Human review and editorial oversight are how great books are made.
Production Engine & Human Review
BookSpace couples automated generative computing with human-in-the-loop oversight to ensure deliverable quality:
- The Human Review Scope: At Stage 5 of the production pipeline, an authorized BookSpace editorial specialist reviews the generated manuscript. This review is an operational quality and formatting checkpoint designed to verify that the book adheres to its architectural blueprint, exhibits coherent section transitions, and generates cleanly into requested file formats.
- Not Comprehensive Fact-Checking or Legal Clearance: The human review checkpoint is not a substitute for academic peer review, professional legal vetting, libel clearance, or comprehensive factual validation. The author retains sole liability for the text.
- Production Durations: Stated generation and review durations (e.g., standard vs. priority queues) are operational estimates based on manuscript length and queue volume. They do not constitute rigid contractual delivery deadlines.
Plans, Pricing, Credits & Payments
BookSpace offers tiered monthly subscriptions and supplemental AI Credit packages:
| Plan Tier | Monthly Price | Monthly AI Credits | Max Pages / Book | Rollover Credits | Production Queue |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Creator | $39 / month | 1,000 Credits | Up to 150 pages | No | Standard Priority |
| Pro | $67 / month | 2,500 Credits | Up to 300 pages | Yes (Unused credits never expire) | Priority Human Review |
| Publisher | $119 / month | 6,000 Credits | Up to 500 pages | Yes (Unused credits never expire) | Highest Priority Queue |
A. Merchant of Record (Paddle.com)
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Paddle handles payment method processing, currency exchange, invoicing, and sales tax / VAT calculation. When purchasing a plan or credits, you transact directly with Paddle under their checkout terms.
B. Credit Ledger & Consumption
Book creation consumes AI Credits based on manuscript length, architectural depth, and stage allocations (Research, Architecture, Writing, Editorial, Human Review, and Typesetting). When you initiate a book project, the necessary credits are reserved. Upon successful completion and file delivery, credits are formally committed. If generation fails due to a verified platform error, reserved credits are automatically released back to your balance.
C. Rollover Policy
On Pro and Publisher plans, unused monthly credits rollover month-to-month and do not expire for as long as your paid subscription remains active and in good standing. If you cancel your subscription, accumulated credits remain accessible until the end of your current paid billing period.
D. Refund Policy
Commercial refund eligibility for subscriptions and credit packages is structured around whether your account has successfully completed the production of any book:
- Accounts with No Completed Books: You may request a refund for eligible payments if your BookSpace account has not successfully completed the production of any book.
- Accounts with One or More Completed Books: Once one or more books have been successfully completed in your account, refunds are generally unavailable for those purchases under our standard commercial refund policy, because full book creation incurs non-recoverable high-performance AI inference costs and dedicated human review allocation.
- Authoritative Production Standard: A book is determined to be completed strictly by authoritative backend and database state (reaching stage
completedwith 100% stage completion and compiled publication deliverables). Exploratory briefs, in-progress drafts, interrupted pipelines, and frontend progress percentages do not constitute a completed book. - Technical Failures & Billing Discrepancies: If you experience a verified platform error or incorrect credit deduction, our support team will restore the deducted credits or take appropriate corrective action. Duplicate charges, unauthorized payments, and billing errors are investigated independently 24/7 regardless of whether an account has completed a book.
- Statutory Consumer Rights: Mandatory statutory consumer cancellation and remedy rights applicable under local law (such as the 14-day EU right of withdrawal prior to digital service performance) remain fully unaffected.
For full details, submission instructions, and processing timelines, please review our dedicated Refund Policy.
Orders, Revisions & Final Delivery
Project Initiation: An order is created when you submit a book brief and confirm stage parameters in your workspace.
File Formats: Finished manuscripts are compiled and published to your workspace dashboard in industry-standard formats: Microsoft Word (DOCX), Adobe PDF, EPUB, LaTeX, and PowerPoint (PPTX).
Revisions: After initial delivery, you may request revisions to refine chapters, adjust pacing, or improve styling within the revision allowances of your plan. Substantial structural shifts or complete rewrites requiring re-running the entire 7-stage engine will require standard credit allocation.
Copyright Claims & DMCA Policy
BookSpace respects the intellectual property rights of creators and complies with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act ("DMCA") and equivalent international copyright laws.

Third-Party Services & Dependencies
BookSpace relies on specialized third-party infrastructure providers, including Cloudflare (hosting, storage, edge routing), Supabase (database, authentication), Paddle (Merchant of Record, payments), and foundational AI model APIs (Anthropic, Google, OpenAI).
While we partner with tier-one enterprise providers, BookSpace is not liable for temporary service interruptions, latency, or scheduled maintenance originating within third-party external networks.
Availability & Platform Changes
We target 99.9% platform availability, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free service. We regularly deploy updates, bug fixes, and feature improvements. We reserve the right to modify, replace, or discontinue specific features or export formats with reasonable prior notice when feasible.

BOOKSPACE EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, QUIET ENJOYMENT, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT GENERATED MANUSCRIPTS WILL BE ERROR-FREE, ACCURATE, UNINTERRUPTED, OR COMPLIANT WITH THIRD-PARTY PUBLISHING GUIDELINES WITHOUT AUTHOR REVISION.
Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL BOOKSPACE.AI, ITS FOUNDERS, OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, PARTNERS, OR LICENSORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA LOSS, GOODWILL, REPUTATIONAL DAMAGE, WORK STOPPAGE, OR COMPUTER FAILURE, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE PLATFORM.
IN ALL CASES, BOOKSPACE'S TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL BE STRICTLY LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT ACTUALLY PAID BY YOU TO BOOKSPACE IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM (OR $100 USD IF NO PAYMENTS HAVE BEEN MADE).
NOTHING IN THESE TERMS PURPORTS TO EXCLUDE OR LIMIT LIABILITY FOR FRAUD, WILLFUL MISCONDUCT, OR ANY STATUTORY CONSUMER RIGHTS THAT CANNOT BE CONTRACTUALLY WAIVED UNDER LOCAL LAW.
Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless BookSpace.ai, its founders, affiliates, contractors, and employees from and against any third-party claims, demands, liabilities, damages, losses, and reasonable expenses (including attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to:
- Your breach or alleged breach of these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy.
- Any User Content, research documents, or source material you upload that infringes upon third-party intellectual property or privacy rights.
- Your publication, marketing, distribution, or sale of finished manuscripts generated through the platform.
- Your violation of any applicable law or regulation.
Dispute Resolution & Governing Law
Informal Resolution First: We believe most author questions and disputes can be resolved quickly and amicably. You agree that before initiating formal legal proceedings, you will contact us at legal@bookspace.ai with a detailed description of the dispute. Both parties agree to engage in good-faith informal negotiations for at least thirty (30) days.
Governing Law & Jurisdiction: These Terms shall be interpreted and governed in accordance with applicable commercial and contract law, without regard to conflict of law principles. Formal venue and dispute mechanisms remain subject to standard jurisdictional procedures, and consumers retain the right to bring claims in their local courts where mandated by non-waivable statutory consumer protections.
Updates & Contact Information
Modifications: We may revise these Terms periodically. We will post the revised Terms on our website with appropriate notice. Continued use of BookSpace after changes take effect indicates your agreement to the revised Terms.
Severability: If any provision of these Terms is deemed invalid or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision will be enforced to the maximum extent permissible, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
